Open Dialogue: Tara Aisha Willis, Barak adé Soleil, and 2023-24 ECI Fellows

Join us for an open dialogue with Barak adé Soleil, new Director of Emerging Curators Institute (ECI), Tara Aisha Willis, Curator of Performance and Public Practice at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago (MCA), and members of the 2023-24 Fellowship cohort: Nance Musinguzi and Makeda “Keda” Tadesse. Together they will discuss curatorial practice focused on intersectionality, care, and accessibility.

About Tara Aisha Willis
Tara Aisha Willis is Curator of Performance at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago and holds a Ph.D. in Performance Studies from NYU. Willis was a programmer and founding administrator of the Artists of Color Council at dance incubator Movement Research. Her writing has been published by Getty Research Institute/X Artists’ Books, Wendy’s Subway Press, Performa Magazine, Brooklyn Rail, Danspace Project, The Black Scholar, and forthcoming from University of Illinois Press and Soberscove Press. Willis performed in a nationally touring collaboration between Will Rawls and Claudia Rankine, and in the “Bessie” Award-winning performance by The Skeleton Architecture.
